Tippet is loose
#1
I'm tired of tippet coming loose from the spools while I'm fishing. Gets tangled in everything. I usually carry 4 sizes hanging from my vest and there's always one looping around something.
I've been using pony tail holders that my daughter uses, but they just don't seem to hold. The bands that come with the leader stretch too easily.

Anyone have an idea. Someone sells a loop, but I know there's an easier way?

I use rubber bands but I run into the same problem I seen these a while back but never used them

maybe worth a try.

I don't wedge the tippet in the slot that is on the spool.
Rather than that, I wedge it in one side of the insert.
It's a much tighter fit and my line usually doesn't come out of it.

I just put a little dab of strike puddy on mine. Works good for me.[Smile]

I have used velcro wire ties on some of my spools. I got mine at either Lowes or Home Depot. They weren't very expensive.

Here is what they look like:

I use some of those elastic hair bands that are kind of like terry cloth, the smaller one fit nicely.

Thanks, that's what I've been using, but the tippett still sneaks around the side. I'll have to get one a little thicker.

Most william joseph packs have a "tippet dispenser" built into them. It keeps everything contained and orderly. I have a couple of their packs and I love them for this feature alone.

A small piece of scotch tape works well as long as you don't get it wet. Just unstick it to use, stick it back when you're done, replace as needed.
