government wash 5/13-5/14

well we decided to hit the road after work so we could get set up out at a good spot before the weekend crowds, got to the wash about 5:30pm but someone was already in the spot we wanted so we unloaded a few yards from them and began to fish about 6pm nothin really happening, we started messin with the green sunfish swimin around my son caught one on mealworms, then the people left before it got totally dark and we moved over to that spot and cast out about 8:30 my bell goes off fish on!! nice little fight, landed the channel cat about 2lbs, got it on "stink" bait, got another bite but missed it, nothin else for the night lit the camp fire roasted some dogs and smores we crashed out about midnight, had a great night sleep best in awhile. up at 5am with my son chummed up the area with our chum balls, within 5 mins my son was hooked up with the first fish of the day, then another 10 mins pass he's hooked up again with another on my rod, while i'm a few yards away tryin to get whatever blew up on my super spook jr. minutes earlier. never did get it. a few more nice carp and i decided to try ultralight fishin for a big carp so i pulled out the ul rod wit 4lb test on and set up for carp. about 15 minutes whiiiiiiiiiizzz my drag goes off fish on!! that was a fight!! about 5 minutes later 6lb carp is in the net. it was too much fun i had to try it again within 10 mins whiiiiiizzz there goes the drag again, this fish is huge!!!! the fight went on for a good 10 minutes before it broke me off, oh well it was fuuuuunn lol. it would have been a perfect trip until..........

someone tryed to steal my dog!!!! he had wandered off, something he normally doesnt do, but if he does he dont go far, i guess he went over to the launch area without us knowing and someone snatched him, we looked everywhere for him, calling and calling him and nothing, about 30 mins passed and i decided to pack it up and go look for him, then a party came over from the launch area, i knew it was them too cause they moved from the launch area to the other side where we were fishing and set up there all suspect like, so noone could see the dog they just stole probly thinking it was from that side where they were at, but i cant prove it, i was so pissed he was gone, i was explaining to my daughter that someone had stolen our dog and we are leaving to go try and find him, i was talking rather loud. loud enough for those people to hear me and all of a sudden my dog was over by them, but just minutes earlier he wasn't there, it was like they heard me talking and let him out of the truck and when i called him over they were all like "oh were you looking for him?" bulls***!! a little too coincidental dont cha think? anyways we were relieved he was back but still decided to leave, i didn't wanna look at those people after that, sorry for the long read but i had to vent. i will post pictures tonight, my wife has the camera in the truck with her at work.

Nice report as usual!
Just wanting to make sure you are aware of the fire restrictions starting today.
No smoking outside your car.
No campfires (unless in an approved campground)
and no welding(really)
I would hate to here you got pinched as the fines could be as much as 5000.00

BTW attempting to steal a mans dog is the lowest.There are plenty at the pound that need saving.

i was un-aware of fire restrictions thanx for the heads up. really? smoking outside of your car? well i personally dont smoke but that'll piss the wife off she smokes like a train, welding? lol ok. dont know how to weld nore do i own a welder so i will be safe from that one lol. [cool]

Thank you for the read - good that they are keeping everyone mindful... I'm gonna keep having my responsible campfires on the beach when I camp at Mead. I'll make sure there is no vegetation around..... [cool]
