DENVER -- The Colorado Division of Wildlife will host an introduction to fly fishing at a private ranch in Bailey on May 30. Twenty adult beginners will receive a half day of classroom instruction and then spend an afternoon learning hands-on fishing techniques in nearby waters.
"Fly-fishing is a challenging and fun way to get out and enjoy the outdoors," said Dawson Swanson, district wildlife manager for Bailey. "Learning how to select the right fly, read the water, and perfect your casting can make this a rewarding lifetime pursuit!"
The classroom sessions will cover fish identification, rules and regulations, aquatic biology, fly selection, knot-tying and general equipment setup and selection. The Colorado Division of Wildlife will provide fly-fishing equipment for the class. Students with their own equipment are welcome to bring it. A $20 fee will cover the cost of lunch and supplies. A valid fishing license is also required for all participants. The class size is limited to 20 participants.

WHO: Adults (age 16 and older) with limited or no experience fly fishing
WHEN: Monday, May 30 (Memorial Day)
