Fishin in the rain????
#1
Last year I was an emotional fisher. I went out many times with little or no logic applied, just the possible thrill of a catch followed by many empty handed and confusing rides home.

I spent a lot of time studying fish this winter. Learned that you need to go fishing at times that make sense to fish (weather, spawn, timing, season, water temperature, etc....)

That being said I went out once with a buddy and I foul hooked a carp and then watched him pull in a bunch of 4 pound wiper. We trolled the same lure, same depth, same speed and he caught 6 to my 0. I thought it was because he was on the side of the boat with the shore on it, but when we turned around I expected my rig to start going nuts but it was his that kept bringing in the fish. The only difference is he had a duolock (pic attached)

This has me dying to get out fishing again, I'm getting the SHAKES!! But with all this rain, and current weather doesn't seem like it makes sense to go after wiper, muskie, bass, etc....

I've read the boards and it seems like when it calms down people are able to catch fish. I'd love to fish in the rain, if it makes sense (and is safe). Hows the fishing been for you? Had any success fishing in the rain?

I have had good luck fishing the rain at the berry this time of the year even seems better when its snow'n. Usually they come with wind and that seems to help also. Seems like the snow and the wind or just the wind when it first comes up the big fish become active. Utah lake is a different story for me. A nice walleye chop seems the best there. Then there's the gorge seems like I always catch fish there but it can be challanging though lots to chose from. Just got to be careful, but it can be great fishing if you have a good boat and some knowledge of how to handle a boat in the wind.

I've never had good luck while fishing in the rain. Nice sunny days with big fluffy clouds seems to be best for me.

All of my biggest browns came while fishing in the rain. I've found the more crappy of a day, it will have small windows of awesome fishing. Fishing is always better then sitting on the couch except if footballs on.
Good Luck.
