Calm Between
#1
So I wanted to get to some bassin, but weather was looking crappy. Morning was gloomy and windy. Finally broke in the afternoon, and even got some (shhhh) SUN!

Figured I didn't have enuf time to give Newton a fair shake, so went kitty chasing again. Hit the launch about 4pm. Sunny skies - seen my first skiers out on the marsh (yay - NOT!).

As I'd been told - once you dial them in, the same location will continue to produce. I'm a believer! After several sideways bobbers moving abouts - I got a "hookset" into one, that turned into a birdsnest of tangle - with the drag set SO loose (oops). Gave up on the rod and grabbed the line which was still moving, but - w/o the rod's bend to assist - quickly broke off (yes I did it, not the fish!).

After working over my first area, I moved on to the second. Wind had been up, then down - but mostly sunny, though the horizon showed a different story. Pitched some worms, some carp, on the bottom, under bobber. Dragged bobbers and bottom bouncers from point A-B. Fan-casting ahead as I moved into a backwater, after spooking a few carp - I got a good hookup, and the game was on. I do love the way these cats wrastle! Gave out some drag, and we had a good fight. (this one - I won!). Turned out to be a nice 22 inch chubster. (I'm still in 2nd though)

Weather got turning foul, WIND picked up, getting past 6pm - was time to bail. Chased away by the streaking rain - headed back. After a few missed - felt good to shake the skunk off!
