Farmington Pond Cats
#1
So they finally have started stocking the channel cats in the urban fisheries and I noticed that they don't plant channels in Farmington Pond, yet last year that was the best place to go for channels for me. Do they just have a good spawn there each year therefor they don't need help or is the DWR trying to cut back on Cats in Farmington? Just thought it was interesting as I would continually get hit hard by cats there yet for the last couple years they haven't stocked them there.

Anyone had any luck with cats at jenson, bountiful or kaysville last couple of days? I'm dying to catch SOMETHING...

Bountiful has a good # of cats in it....also a good # of huge birds...Watched one bird eat 4 newly stocked cookie-cats[crazy]. We do the youth fishing club there and one kid got a nice cookie last Wed night....hope that some survived the weekend and birds for tonight's meeting.

Well, I for one didn't know there were any there. I don't often read the stocking reports, and I wouldn't have guessed there was particularly good habitat for them there. In my mind, having been there a lot a few years ago, it's kinda like a big sandy bowl full of cold creek water.

I bet you are one of only a few guys fishing for them. I've never even seen anybody targeting anything other than trouts....
