The "C" has been treating me VERY well this yr. Dont know if its my new boat or what but for the first yr now i have landed nice trout every time i have gone out. Water has been a steady 52 degrees and the fish been up high. Makes for fun outings with my friends and family... Some pix added if you wish to look.
PS before i get slammed on the three fish, yes i know its a 2 fish limit i never fish alone this trip i had my friend Mike and his boy Bryan. He was the one taking this pix.

Good Fish Man! I have never fished it before but that makes it pretty tempting, especially if the rivers blow out again. Thanks for the report.

Thanks for the report. I have always liked Chesterfield. It may be the most fertile lake in Idaho as far as fish growth rates go. Good to hear things are going well there again.

Great looking fish! sorry you have to cover your butt with a disclaimer about the number of fish you have caught and knowing the limits for fear of fellow members looking for a reason to start a problem. thank you for sharing.

Beautiful fish man!! Have you had a chance to hit up oneida yet, just wondering if anyone had been catching any fish up there or if the water was still too muddy?

I have and its slowly getting where we need it. Picked up lil dinks hear and thr. Water temp has been a steady 51 degrees. Water is still dark and the carp have been on the sides but are still hard to see because of water. The water level is low you have to put in on the side of the boat ramp.

Has anyone been out on Chesterfield in a float tube or any reports on how it has been so far?

If it's that low that you can't use the boat ramp at the Dam, can you put in upriver at near the Hot Springs or is that not an option yet, either?

If you can't put in at the Dam, I doubt you can use the Ramp by the campgound, the reservoir gets much shallower towards the upper end.

Thanks for the heads up. If that's the case, I won't try coming in from the north. It was going to save us some driving, but if we can't put in up by the Hot Springs, I might as well stay on the pavement and come in from the south by the dam.
Thanks.

Nice colors! I am guessing they are Kamloops...aren't they?
I want to know, how do they taste this time of year? I had one last year, and maybe my cooking ability, but it taste like Mud. Is there a trick?

Flygoddess,
I find your post interesting. You must have caught them when the water temperature was very warm. I would normally agree with dma ayotte about smoking slimers but have found the Chesterfield kamloops to be the exception. I kept a couple 18" last Friday and did a simple fillet and microwave job (with salt and pepper) and they tasted fine. Nothing like perch or the other real fish -- but actually bordering on good (for slimers).
