Wish Me Luck (Not a Fishing Related Post) OTOTOT
#1
I have been watching a HUUUUGE bull moose and think I have him pinned down for the hunt. My hunt starts in the morning and with any luck, it may be over quickly. The kill that is, the packing may be a couple days. But, you know about the best layed plans of mice and men............. So, I am humbly asking for a collective good luck from all my wonderful friends on this board. If you have any sway with the ritual hunting gods, please say a prayer to them for me tonight. I have a friend who will be video taping the highlights and I of course will have my trusty digital on hand to post pics and yet further anger those who desire a purely fishing board. K2 will be at my side to waylay any errant grouse that happen across our path. It is his first year hunting (12 years old) and he can hardly contain himself. Me too. Hey Tincan, tell your young moose tag wielding relative that there are a couple bulls hanging in Brown's Park. That's the best I can do my friend because the big boy I am selfishly saving for me and mine. Again, please wish me luck my friends if you are so inclined to do so. I am a big believer in karma, so send some wishes my way. LOL. Till then.......

Good Moose Hunting, Kayote

[cool]Hey, bro. Two questions. One, you gonna throw a buzzbait? Two, how you gonna get that big dude on your yak?

Oh, yeah. Wrong sport.

Personal best wishes. Hope the hunt goes exactly like you have been dreaming about it...like forever.

You've got my "good luck"! Hope you don't need luck, a mann of your skills? One suggestion, I wouldn't shoot any grouse in the area of the hunt until you bag your moose, ok? LOL

Where do you put moose meat in the ranking of other big game for eating? Never eaten moose. Love elk, deer, antelope. Yes, I said antelope! Put in for the draw (late seson doe) every year and have always gotten my lope when I draw out. Hope your moose isn't too old and just in his prime for eatability!

Thanks for the wishes everyone. I have had moose meat that was delicious and I've tasted some that was tough as an old leather shoe. I suspect, the bigger the tougher. The one I am watching is two miles in, so my dilema is if I want to work that hard getting him out. I'm pretty sure he'll be there. If I wait, someone else may get him or he'll move. Would be nice to get one near the road, but a monster would be nice too. It's a tough two miles. I do have access to horses, but they won't be with me. Just my luck, it's warming up again just in time to have my critter self baste itself. Hehehe, it's such a bummer to have these tough problems. I'll let you know how the story turns out folks. Later

Go for it!!!!!!!!! You're only going to get older! Take your shot while you can! Who knows when you'll get another chance.
