There are easier places to start if your looking to snowmobile or cross country ski[laugh]. Last Tuesday they were working on trying to clear the road up to where it crosses the Provo River a bit above the turn off for Murdock Basin. I think they wait for thinks to melt a bit and aren't making a daily effort to open it up yet. It'll still be a bit longer and the little extra snow yesterday didn't help. Only 52 inches of snow left.

In another conversation about that area someone was kind enough to post this link: http://www.wcc.nrcs.usda.gov/nwcc/sntl-d...7&state=ut

I've since added it to the bookmarks to have for future reference. It's value is to just list the current snow pack which last load I looked at still showed 52" of snow.

Anyway, not sure if this gives you info enough to answer your question but it might be a nice bit of data to have along with what others can share.

It's starting to finally look like summer in the forecast. If it stays in the 80's and 90's for good, that snow will disappear quickly. I would guess that the whole highway will be open by July 4th. Until then, we're all agonizing over the wait [Sad]

I saw the long range forecast today and it's calling for mostly 90"s and several days upper 90"s the following week http://www.accuweather.com/us/ut/salt-la...-month.asp
I'm betting I'll be fishing in some Uinta lakes by the 4th of July.
