Payson Lakes
#1
Well, the wife was having a Book Club Party at our house tonight so that gave me the pass to escape to a more favorable place, didn't want to go far so I headed up Payson Canyon to check out one of my favorite fishing holes. Wow, the lakes are chuck full and getting to "my" spot was difficult but I managed, I took my son, Daughter and her Freind. What a beautiful night it was, I got my sons pole in the water first and before I could get mine in it was fish on! I like to fish with my 2 poles (with permit) but the action was to fast for 2 poles, had to put one away. I was suprised at some of the fish we were catching. 15-18" bows. We caught probably 30 fish in 2 1/2 hours and I would bet at least half of them were 15" plus. They were hitting hard and my son just about had to go swimming for one of my favorite poles. I told myself I was going to start taking picture to post, but I left without the camera. Next time for sure. It was good to redeem mysleft after my strawberry disaster last week. So now with mother luck back with me, Strawberry is back in my sights. See you all on the water!

I grew up in Payson and have many fond memories of fishing those reservoirs as a youngster. Caught some fine fish out of there in my day.

It seems that there back a bit. They were nice chunky fish, pink meat. I think a tube trip is in order there soon.
