Speak Up Now On North Carolina Striper Plan
#1
[font "Arial"][size 2]RALEIGH, NC—The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission (WRC), along with the state Division of Marine Fisheries (DMF), will hold a series of eight public meetings September 15 through October 8 to gather comments on management proposals for its Striped Bass Fishery Management Plan.

The plan's goal is to ensure the long-term viability of North Carolina's coastal striped bass populations by conserving spawning stock and protecting critical habitats.
A citizen advisory committee made up of recreational anglers, commercial fishermen and scientists worked with DMF and WRC to draft the plan.

Anglers are encouraged to attend the public meetings and offer comments on the recommendations. After the public hearing period, a final draft will be presented to the Marine Fisheries Commission and the WRC.
