Wow, you have done really well in that area. What are the flows like and the water clarity? Thanks for the report!

My stepbrother and I have fished below the dam a few times and have done pretty well. One night in febuary we had a double hook up on 2 7 footers. The last trip was about a month ago and the water was so high we couldn't keep our bait on the bottom. If you don't mind what do you consider the ledge?

on the far bank there is the cliffs that most people call the ledge. also on the hagerman side that line is the water that is about 5-10 ft off the bank is a ledge that drops straight down about 30 ft or so.

kills me to be living on the other side of the state now and that i can't go fish for dinos every day like i did last summer. alas growing up SUCKS!

That's outstanding. Where is this area at if you don't mind? I'm not understanding the descriptions. I sturgeon fish pretty regularly on the stretch of the snake near Grand View and it has been good there also. No 8 fish days yet though. Usually catching 2 or 3 each time out with a couple better days in there. It seems like sturgeon fishing is usually best during spring run-off and then at the end of summer/early fall.

awesome, thanks for the reply. Is there a boat ramp there, or is that strictly a bank fishing spot? One of my freinds here in Boise moved to the Burley area and we've been wanting to meet up for some sturgeon fishing. That would be about right in the middle as opposed to him driving all the way up to Strike. Thanks again!

there is a raft ramp and alot of spots to fish there..... alot of the fishing holes there depends on the flow from the damn.... sometimes you cant even hold with 13 plus sinker.. lots of fish there... they have planted alot of them over the years and are starting to get to a good size.... good luck down there and if you hook a big one hang on if the water is fast your in for a long battle.... not sure but you could put in at bliss bridge i do believe but need to really know the river to get up there .... the old land slide changed the river so not sure how far you could go... will try to find out about the boat for you and put it on here .....

If I remember right there is a "raft slide" and it is very steep and long. Nothing for regular boats at the dam there.

we have put a 12 foot aluminum boat in but you have to carry it down the walk way or use the raft slide. If your putting in a bigger boat you could probably do it where the malad river runs in but not a real big boat as there is no ramp and its real narrow . If you put in at the bliss bridge you need a jet boat and some good river skills.
