strike
#1
we easily caught over 100 smallies. topwater bite lasted until about 11. caught them on everything. most of them averaged 11 or 12 inches. had at least a 4lb largie get off. i was pissed. i may try oxbow/hells canyon/brownlee next just for something else but strike is on. i hate owyhee and brownlee flat sucks the last few years, so its hard to leave but want to take the kid camping somewhere beside the desert. heres a laugher pic.

we hit the narrows last night. could not find the crappie so started jiggin fer bass in the narrows. we tore them up most averaged between 5 and 7 inches. That was the most small bass ever. we probably caught about 5 13- 15 inchers there too. we saw i deer and two racoons and a golden eagle. great trip.

It's good to see that there is a good population of young bass coming up. They should be really nice sized in a few years.

WOW!! Those pics make me hot for Strike. [cool]

Actually I do need to get over there and catch me some big Largies. It should be about the right time.

As for Owyhee, I love Owyhee. We need to get together and I'll show you where the big ones are. Of course, the fish will call me a liar. [crazy]

I live 29 miles from the dam at Owyhee and I fished it a lot until I got tired of dodging the rocks and sometimes boulders in the road. You ever have this problem? Good fishing...Mike

Yep, that is a pain. There's been times I've had to get out and move some just to get by.

Plus the fact the road isn't exactly the widest. I had a motorhome force me off the road and I blew a boat trailer tire. But I still love Owyhee. I've won more club tourneys there than any other lake.

my superior buddy caught a 4, 4.5, 5 and a 5.5 in a 200 yard stretch and my bro caught a 5.5 but i have struggled. i know they are there but i never catch enough to satisfy me. i can catch a ton anywhere else. strike brownlee lucky peak anderson ranch i can catch them. owyhee no. ive been all the way to the hot spring. we only caught 2 smaalies last time and the tourney there that day sucked also.

Went up to strike yesterday and did quite well on topwater...probably boated 45 + smallies and several Largemouth that were decent sized...one good sized smallie was totally mushy in my hand...maybe just finished spawning and felt empty in the gut cavity...
