Just a heads up for anyone thinking about fishing Mantua on Saturday the 16th of July. It is little valley days in Mantua and the lake is closed to the public. Opens back up on Sunday.
Hope it saves someone a little inconvenience.

What counts as "public" - anyone NOT from Mantua proper? Thanks - as said- for the heads up.
Wish I'da known they were having a 'wakeboard demonstration' when I selected that puddle for my 'maiden' voyage of the new ride.
But we had a good float (as in didn't sink), got on some fish, good company, just wish the kids'd had more chance to get wet. They were itching for more swimming!

Probably good the kids stayed in the boat. Mantua is also famous for a little parasite in the water affectionately known as "Swimmers Itch"
Your guess is as good as mine about what is "Public" but with robocop up there I think I will head to another lake on Saturday.

Swimmers itch is a pain in the butt. One of the worst experiences I have fishing in Utah was when I forgot my waders and fished the thick weed mats at Mantua.
I itched and scratched for 3 whole days. Not fun at all.
I could only imagine how miserable a smaller child would be...
