Shore fishing at Echo???
#1
Just a quick question, wanted to take the kids to echo just from the shore, has anyone been lately? If so where is the best action to catch a few and have a little fun? Any info would be great.

Thanks

There are a few pull outs up toward the dam. Lot's of trout in that end of the lake. I'd try bobbers and worm and maybe cast rapala's (or similar) and spoons. Early and late in the day would probably be best for trout from shore.

If you don't do any good for trout - small jigs tipped with worm will work for the smallies. They are pretty much everywhere... The perch might even be showing up around weeds.

There are some giant catfish in there but I almost don't even suggest trying for them. Pretty rare catch these days since they quit stocking them. Hard to catch em without drifting and covering water.
