Tubedude's Dream come true....or at least part of it: Utah Lake, Lindon
#1
Hit UL @ Lindon and we were the only ones on the water.....NOT!!!! Tons of people, parked all the way out past the railroad tracks. After we were able to escape the people we were able to get into some fish. A few carp at first, then the white bass started to hit in #'s. The kiddos and I spelled 'white bass' with a few of them and we also took some pics of some others we caught. Many WB's, Crappie, and Good sized gills. Almost Tubedude's dream, but no eyes today. We also did not go for cats....too hot for me to sit and wait a bit for em. All fish were caught on standard stuff...small jigs, green n pink. We were there 2-4pm today.

Happy Fishing

Nice bass pics, that was very creative. I should do that with the Bluegill I am probably going to get on Sunday. Hey it's better than a dream because it is actually a reality. Good work.

Thanks, and Welcome! Good Luck fishing tomorrow! Yeah, that would be cool to do with each species of fish, but may be hard with the gills...they are so fat right now!! Have fun tomorrow.

From shore? I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I keep getting skunked on everything except white bass. I can't figure out the bluegills at all.

[#0000ff]Man, that is a chunky bluegill Ivan is holding. Might have to include that pic in my Utah Lake writeups.[/#0000ff]

Glad you got out and did well. But then, I'd expect nuthin less from you! [Wink]

The family got back in town and my son and I hit UL on Fri afternoon for what we thought would be a "short" trip and take advantage of the stable weather. We started out trying for cats, but our first spot produced about a dozen w/bass and just a few cats.

So, we went to another spot that we've gone to before and got nuthin. But, I tried about 20 yards further away near some bushes and rocks and we both had doubles of white bass instantly. We anchored up and literally stayed on a large school for over an hour and a half. We stopped counting at a hundred, but I'd guess it was about 150. The contest became if we could cast out and NOT catch a fish! FINALLY, I got my oldest on a school. Man, when the lure would come close enough to the boat, we could see bass would swoop on them like piranhas.

My only regret was that my wife and youngest weren't there! That will have to be a challenge for another day.

Yeah, that was us. Kiddo needed to take a leak, and we could not find an opening to the south where the docks were. There were tons of boats just hovering, waiting to trailer. We were going to anchor up near the private docks, but then saw those lines as we got closer. We then went around a bit and tried there, but saw more lines, then tried once more and found a spot on shore to dock up. Tons of people. You must have been the guy with the tent and the kiddo. Sorry if we got a bit too close and if I was a bit agitated, but I have had a few run-ins with those guys that live there in their trailers and "own" the place. When ya gotta go, ya gotta go tho, and he had to go.
