brownlee -1/ hells canyon +1
#1
went to hells canyon fri and whacked them. at least 80-100. you would reel one in and his buddies would follow. my son reeled in his bait once and we counted 7 followers. nothing over 1 3/4 but plenty of 11-13 inchers. so we decided to got back to woodhead and camp and plug in the boat. of course water bathrooms or showers not working this weekend. as we found our spot i hear the trailer bearings sounding funny. we take off the hub to check and the bearings fall out. broke down on simco last sept and got towed back to town. had brand new axle put on.oh great broke down at woodhead. friendliest guy ever accross from me looks and says easy fix with new bearings. 5:30 fri at woodhead what do i do. go to gateway because they have few bearings but not the right ones and council napa closes at 6. wake up early and drive 50 miles to council for 7 am opening praying they have the right ones. they do go back and put them on and back at it. 10:30 fishing at brownlee until 4:30 only got 7 or 8 fish. brownleeSUCKS. i heard that but didnt believe i couldnt do better. we wanted to fish oxbow first but there was too much current where we wanted to fish. so we picked hells caynon and were impressed. everything dropshotting tubing and jerking. saw bald eagles at hc and even a bear cub alone on the bank at brownlee. within 25 yards no joke. couldve been worse but turned out to be a good weekend.

Sounds like Hells Canyon was a lot of fun, Brownlee not so much. I love when you can catch a lot of Smallies. No matter how big they are, they fight like crazy.

Sorry to hear about the bearings. My son had ours go out at Swan Falls back quite a few years. Had it brought back on a flatbed and dropped off at Les Schwab. Had to have a new axle put on. They put an oversize axle on that proceeded to put a hole in the bottom of the boat. The only way I found out was when my mechanic was replacing my lower unit (broke a driveshaft) and he was crawling around under the boat. Luckily Les Schwab stood behind their work and payed for a new axle and the hole repair work.
