Starvation Report
#1
While it's tough to pattern the walleye - they are still there for the taking.

Managed to find fish in lots of different locations, but only a few at each location and then moved on.

Caught maybe a dozen of the "large" variety perch including my best so far - a fat 13"er.

Also caught my largest Utah walleye at 21.5" that carried it's thickness all the way to the tail. Looked like a log. Fun on ultra-light. It bit on a Tube Dude jig and worm! I need to win another drawing somewhere TD cause I've now lost about 3/4 of my stash!!

Got two accidental trout - both in the 17"-18" range and very healthy fighters.

Fished mostly with a jig & crawler - some with a slip sinker rig & crawler. Bring lots of bait - we went through 5 dozen crawlers in two half day outings - and we were often fishing with only 1/2 of the worm to help with short takes.

And one last note: saw a guy cleaning a very large, very fat perch, and it had two crayfish in it's stomach. I always thought that minnow size fish, snails and bugs were the vast food source, but live and learn.

Nice report. Good to know about the crayfish. I have some crayfish cranks that I might try out up there next time I go.[cool]

[cool][#0000ff]Sounds like you did okay. Glad you found some larger perch too. And yes, they do eat crawdads. So do the walleyes.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Got a bunch of new "trinkets" I am working into the mix for walleyes, perch and other species. I have been making and using the wobble jigs for about a year. I am now rigging them as small spinner jigs. Also doing well on the "No Name" jigs. Those fish like a bit of flash, flutter and vibration.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Good luck on winning something. I am still trying for the lottery. Guess I should probably play if I wanna win.[/#0000ff]

Nice Bling Pat!

I'm gonna buckle and tell you (nobody else read this) the eyes liked the fire-tiger color that is on your second pic upper left.

[cool][#0000ff]That has been one of the "basic food group" colors for several years...and not only on Starvy. Seems to work well on other waters too.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]I wouldn't ever leave home without it.[/#0000ff]
