Using a net while tubing?
#1
Do any of you use a net while tubing? If so, I would like to hear what you use. I'm thinking my flyfishing net may be too short.

Thanks!

[cool][#0000ff]The size and type of net you use for tubing should be based upon the kind of fishing you do and what kind of fish you expect to catch. You don't really need a long handle but something from 12 to 18" is long enough for most netting jobs but not too big to carry on a tube.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]I recommend a rubber mesh net if you can find one that is the right size and not too pricey. The rubber mesh reduces the damage to fish you might want to release and also is less likely to get tangled or hooked[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Here is a pic of the Frabill net I use. It had a longer handle but I cut it down and then filled the inside of the handle tube with expanding foam. [/#0000ff]

Use the Frabil folding net. Works great and stores easily. It also has a telescoping handle. Can be used with one hand.

I use a measure net.

What I like is the telescope handle and the ability see the size of your catch just by landing it in the net. No guessing and no 16 inch fish claimed as 18 not that any fisherman ever do that.

What I don't like is it is not rubber mesh so I do spend time getting jigs/fly's out of the netting.
