Farmington Creek
#1
Today I wanted to fish Farmington creek, when I arrived I found a gate at the begining "road closed" DOH! not to worry I just started above the pond. low,low low water flow for the first 1/2 mile below the diversion but I did find rainbows. They scare easy but I was able to sneak up on a lot of fish. Above the diversion there is a strong flow of water the fish are not as spooky. Funny story... when I started to put my reel on my rod,I took it out of my pack and started to screw it on. A Blow fly landed on my hand,I shook it to get it off, then I realized it was my own fly that I had tied and it was loose in my pack and had fallen on my hand. Good enough to fool me... I used it to catch the fish today until they tore it apart.

That's great! I have fished that creek in many locations. Most are small (<8") but I have caught some in the 10-12" class. That was about 10 yrs ago, so take it with a grain of salt. It can be very rugged and thick brush to say the least, but fun to fish. Sounds like a good day.

Fish size has not changed. Because of high water the brush was not as bad, washed a lot out.
Tomarrow- Southfork of the Ogden-Hoppers!! Tougher to fish because the fish are sooo spooky this time of year, because of the float tuber hatch.
