If you don't have HBO, then you've likely heard of "Entourage" by word of mouth. And if you haven't watched or heard of 'Entourage' before, I'm telling you now: This is one of the best shows on television.
The show's executive producer is Mark Wahlberg (The Departed, Invicincible) and it's loosely based on his life. It's premise is simple, a young actor hits it big in Hollywood, and he brings his friends along for the ride. The trials and tribulations that ensue are nothing short of ridiculous, even ludicrous. But that is what makes 'Entourage' special; it gives average joe's a look into the life of a movie star. Season 1 is really only a half season. Consisting of 8 episodes, it's a quick watch, but worth the money. The special features are slim. There are two versions, a 4:3 and a 16:9, so be aware before you buy. And if you buy Season 1, you might as well buy Season 2. Trust me. Plus you'll save on shipping. Eight episodes is short, thankfully season two is almost twice as long. My only beef is the commentary
