My 2011 Utah L.E bull elk
#1
My qwest to draw a coveted Utah L.E Elk tag finally came true in 2011. I had waited 15 years to finally draw a tag like this.

With much stress and anticipation, the day finally came to leave for my hunt. I arrived four days early to get to know the area, plan some things out and get ready for opening morning.

The 28th arrived to beautiful blue skies, and much potentual.

Many Bulls were seen, scrutinized and finally on Saturday morning, I was provided with the oppertunity to take this magnificant creature.

A kneeling shot from 80 yards through the lungs dropped him 75 yards later. WOW.

Was fortunate enough to get him all loaded on the Rhino with a little help and bring him out. What a trip.

the Utah F&G came into camp, checked out licenses and talked with us. The CO offerred to Score my bull and one other we had.

My bull scored in at 361 B&C.

I couldnt be any happier[Wink]

Congrats. That sounds like an awesome hunt. What a great bull. I keep hoping I draw while I'm still young enough to hike some.

Great bull Mark, with 15 points you deserved killing a pretty bull like that. Especially nice when you could get your ATV in to pack him out. Did you find a good taxidermist to mount him, he will look great on the wall.

Thanks to all. It was a great hunt. Great weather, many many bulls and like was mentioned, a smoke pole to boot.

He had plenty of battle scars. When we skinned and caped him out, he had signs of battle scars all over his body. They were battling it out pretty good.

Now that I have spent so much time and energy one this life long quest. I can hopefully get back to some fishing.

Very nice bull. Great symmetry and length. I can't wait until my general muzzeloader elk hunt. Won't be long. Thanks for sharing.

[Wink]WOW!!!
Very nice, the 15 year wait was all worth it I'll bet. What unit did you draw? I drew the fish lake area in 2002 and probably won't get another tag before I die, that sucks. Sure do like to see other folks be successful because I know how exciting it is to get that opportunity.

Congrats

Lots of meat on that guy...nice work to say the least. Guess good things DO come to those who wait.
