has anyone fished the teton river pretty much in and around rexburg. Particularly around teton lakes golf course. are there any areas you are even allowed to fish (access points) just trying to find somewhere super close to hit in between classes every so often when i get the urge.

If you don't get any first hand information, then I would try asking at your local F&G office. Also you might go to the county courthouse and look at the land plat maps and see what the city, county, or state owns. Or even just go and ask at city hall.

This seems like the perfect question for Mr. Glissmeyer.

The town section can be finicky. There is a certain time of year when all the stars and water align and the fishing is awesome. That time and place (window) is so small that I will let you figure it out. However, as long as the water continues to flow you can catch some fish near the golf course and all the way down to confluence with the Snake. You can access the river at the pullout by the golf course there is another one at the next bridge down. If you stay in the water you should be fine. That can be difficult depending on the water level.

I am also a student and work at the golf course. The best places I have found to fish are down stream from the course and they are very accessible right now with the water so low. There are some nice holes all along that stretch. I have walked up to a mile back along the river and caught some nice fish. Just park at the bridge just before the golf course.
Let me know when you head out there and I might be able to go with you and show you come nice holes!

TT, thanks for the confidence vote, but, although I work in Rexburg, I've never fished the Teton anywhere near town, so I can't give even an uneducated guess. I'd like to do it someday, but the ankle is still my biggest obstacle...

D'oh! This surprises me (you not having fished the Teton around Rexburg).
Condolences on the still-ailing ankle; hope it is improving.

Eagle Park is also a nice spot to get in. Early this spring I caught a couple of nice cutts in a deeper hole there.
