Fat Pat Back in the Fat Cat

[cool][#0000ff]Sold the Renegade and I am back in the Fat Cat. Just hadda make anudder trip to Starvy. Can't stay away too long. Figured there might be some wallies playin'...and if not, maybe some troutskis. Right on the former and wrong on the latter.[#000000]

[/#000000][#0000ff]A balmy 35 at Bunny Gulch as I launched. Water temp was the flip side...53. Funny...later when I got out at 1 PM the water and the air temps were the same...55. Silly.[/#0000ff][#000000]

[/#000000][#0000ff]Tried bubble and fly and spinners early for trout. Waste of time. Didn't see any on the surface and nothing "trouty" on sonar either. Did get a walleye later in the morning while trying a spinner again.[/#0000ff][#000000]

[/#000000][#0000ff]The walleyes were definitely in a playful mood today. Got about 15 or 20. Most were seegars and underfooters but I did score 5 between 14" and 20". Second biggest was still a healthy 18". I found them in anywhere between 22 and 35 feet. The biggest one hit one of my "No Name" jigs in 35'. Most action was in the 25 to 30 foot range.[/#0000ff][#000000]

[/#000000][#0000ff]As usual, got a grundle and a half of perch. Most were small but did get a few over 10". Really wasn't fishing for them but they wouldn't stay away. Saw some suspended schools of perch that were humongous (see pic). Couldn't drop a jig to the bottom through them. Munch city...but all small biters. Biggest perch came from about 30 feet, near rocks. Also got some out as deep as 43'.[/#0000ff][#000000]

[/#000000][#0000ff]Lovely day. Only a light breeze all morning and past noon. A couple of boats went by out on the main lake but there was no power squadron in Bunny Gulch today. I must be livin' right.[/#0000ff][#000000]

[#0000ff]My style of fishing involves using it more like a float tube...mostly kicking. No oars and the motor only when making moves from one spot to another. The bigger craft required more energy per kick to move me around. At the end of a full day of fishing I was whupped...a lot more than with my float tube.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]This trip to Starvation reinforced my opinion. I covered a LOT of water yesterday...using mostly fin power in searching out the fish. No leg cramps and I felt good after getting off the water.[/#0000ff]

Hey at least someone got out. Was forced finally to put the toons away. Had to get the garage set back up for witner and now I have a healthy todo list for the house that I put off. Enjoy! [#0000ff]Homes, spouses, kids and bills...it's a wonder that any of us guys ever get to go fishing. But all of that makes each fishing trip that much more enjoyable. [/#0000ff]

I know. It seems like I get close to having the list complete when it seems to grow overnight. I definitely look forward to my time on the water as a way to get away.

Have you ever thought that your wives give you a list of some things they would like done might be because they can't see the light at the end of the tunnel on their own list and they are trying to share some of the load?

Prioritize your list. Somethings can't wait too long, but some can. Set a schedule of a specific time that you will do each item.

Hire a few things done, including getting some help for your wife, such as maybe a deep cleaning by a maid service, or just a babysitter for a day.

You leave work at the office -- 9 to 5 so to speak. Your time away from the job you feel is FREE for you to use how you want. She is on call 24 - 7. When is her free time?

Help out and then take your wives out!!

My work gets to stay at the office since my officeirolls on steel wheels. I get to be Home 4 days a week but for some reason I can't get much done.

Here is my list:
fix the screen door
Fix hole in ceiling from plumbing leak in August
Cut hole in garage ceiling to find new leak
Prime and paint living room
Put new laminate flooring down in downstairs hallway
replace the floor boards after I rip them out to lay new flooring
Hang new blinds
Install three window sills

I have crossed off several things not listed already too.[cool]

Replace house water valve
Rotor till garden
finish trailer repairs
Clean garage


Also around my house it is my job to do laundry for some reason.

You're a good man AT, and that is a big list. Some would make some nice winter time projects though, and some need done before the snow flies. If nothing else hire the kid down the block to till your garden while you get something else done. What I was saying is space some of them out and it won't feel so overwhelming and nag on your mind. Plan some for Nov, some for Dec, etc. If you have a timeline then your "Now" list isn't so heavy, and you can negotiate time for fishing and so on. Talk it over with your wife and see what her priorities are on the list. Good luck and less stress!!!!!
