Last day buck
#1
Hit the desert for the last day of the hunt. Ended up getting this big boy around 8:30 am hot on the trail of some does. Nothing like deer going into the rut during the rifle hunt!

"Luck is when preparation meets opportunity" I couldn't agree more and thanks I really did earn this one. Not the biggest buck I've ever shot but probably the prettiest. He looks like he should be in a painting. It's the first one that I didn't have to argue with my wife to get mounted, in fact she had to talk me into it.

The Wife's family is from the Pembrooke and Statesbourough area and I have hunted the whitetail there in the past (1973) with some of her relatives. They hunted them with hounds back then. I wasn't too much into that style of hunting deer coming from Northern Wis. but it was something different. Hope you have fun and kill a good one or a dozen.
