Tayler(grandson) and I hit the Willow today with the fly rods. Was cold, cloudy, and raining when we arrived.Tayler put on a BWO, and I tied on a Hares Ear. Slight wind out of the North today, but as we were using the 5wt rods it was not an issue. I managed 2 on the nymph and Tayler got 2 on the dry. He is here from Idaho for the week. No pictures today. There were LARGE ALBINOS cruising the shore line, but we couldn't get them to take anything.

Nice Pa....those albinos are likely wanting something bigger than a fly. When you do hook into one...let us know.

I love haresears. I have used them forever, but never thought of tying them in a color like blue. It should work great!

I great pattern right now is a small [size 14 or 12] leach. Use semi seal or ice dubbing for the body. Add a marabou tail and a bead head and you are ready to fish. Try the Blue, Purple, Black and Brown colors. Don't be afraid to mix the colors together.
I also like a small amount of flash in the tail.
Fish it under an indicator and move it up or down to locate the depth of the fish.

Be sure to push all the little kids out of the way to get that perfect spot and fish. As someone who has had the pleasure of fishing with you that was just a joke. Hitting the Weber and/or the Provo tomorrow, let us know how ya do.

Stay off the Reds which are not really RED. But I hear they stick real good to Treble hooks[laugh]
Got to work till at least 10 Pa, so we shall see. You know, I rarely see children at that pond. I see a lot of older people taking their limits though. And cigarette butts everywhere, specially under the sign that reads "No Smoking".
Ironic isn't it?

Really? Well snagging them with our trebles would make great bait. Too bad the area is baitless! You guys don't have to cry so hard over these fish as most will be coming home today.

if you fish the provo have a blast! like i have said earlier you guys could really help that place out by thining out the browns in there, hell everyone could really help by taking at least 1 home.
if you guys fish the weber use some ethics and stay off the redds. if you fish the middle section remember the regs change between the bridges and watch out for the private property signs. if you fish the lower have fun lol

Yep that place along the middle weeb is a riddle of Private Property. Well we actually rarley wade in the rivers so the redds will be safe from us. We thought about asking some of the property owners for permission but maybe next year. Offer them free work for fishing rights or something?

I pulled out a tiny RED pheasant tail last year on the creeks and MAN! I have no idea what the fish thought it was, but they wanted it.
I know Uintas, Orange, Yellow and Purple.
Sorry Pa for hi-Jacking
