I have been reading a little bit about this body of water and was just wondering how it fished through the ice? Also I know they close the road to Monte during the winter and I was wondering if the road from Evanston to Woodruff, 89 I think, stays open? Even if you can get to Woodruff is SR 39 open so there is access to the lakes?
Any information would help. Thanks

Yes it stays open from Evanston. You may need to walk a 1/2 mile to the lake if the snow is deep though unless you have a sled.

We drove up there to hunt rabbits in Feb last year, and the roads from Evanston on up to Woodruff, Randolph, and Laketown were open as far as you wanted to go,
BUT, we passed the Hwy 39 turn and it had a gate and 15" of unplowed snow on it... so go early in the season, I guess...
