Well we did a little cast n blast with some Utard buddies that were in town. Shooting turned out alright, they put down a limit between the two of them. Now to the good stuff.......fish on the surface and catching them on dries. Just because the summer hatches are gone don't forget light tippet and small flys. About 3pm I noticed fish slurping in the seams so I pulled into a favorite little flat area and rigged up the 3 wt. 6x and 22 bwo's and 22 midges were the ticket. Rolled over a half dozen trout in under 30 minutes. Biggest was a nice 15 inch cutty. When we catch those nice warm days (and by warm anything over 32) think about scratching the dry fly itch! Its just as fun to see them tack the small little flys in the winter as the summer.
