Went to hole 33 this morning and had to walk in a foot of water to cross the little bridge to my honey hole... I knew it wouldn't be long the water is rising quick!!! Anyways landed a couple nice fat stripers a 2 and 3 pounder loaded with eggs "it's spawn time" every one was catching good size fish till around noon... After that headed to the fishing pier at hemmingway... What a slaughter house!!! Every ones stringers were full and one guy was showing me pics from yesterday he got a 10,12, and 15 pounder off the pier..."he got robbed it was a monster striper 34 inches long and only weighed in at 14.9 pounds"... Skin and bones, from what I saw today It prolly just dumped it's eggs... The big boys have moved in and the bite is on... What a day haha.... Btw saw baysport at the cleaning station so I'm sure he will have a report also.... Lol

Btw catching those stripers on a little lightweight pole and reel is a blast!! The 3 pounder about broke the pole I swore it was a monster haha.... I'm used to the big med to heavy action rods... They get boring reeling the little guys in... I got me a cheapo shakespear light weight rod and that was fun!!! Best fight I had in at least 10 years lol... It burned the drag and had the pole folded in half... I could hear the fiberglass stressing... Sorry guys just a little excited... Great day at the lake... Time for some trout at sunset tomorrow...

nice....I need to get out there again soon I have a score to settle with the one that got away last outing. maybe the big ones are in close cause their natural instincts say with the cooler weather its close to trout stocking time so they are just waiting for their feeding that ain't gonna happen.[fishon]

That pier was packed beyond being fishable... 16 poles and 8 people in a little 10ft square.. One guy was casting in the shallows maybe 2 foot of water after chumming corn and was yanking carp until a spot opened up... Ha here comes a big striper "caught on corn" with a egg sack hanging out... Not huge but big for mead it was 2+ pounds... I didn't see Any Dinks what so ever.. and the smaller schoolies where hitting when we rolled out at 5pm... Long day on the water... Bite was good from dusk till noon then let up for 4 hours and when the sun starting going down they were hitting hard... I would say the evening was more productive for smaller guys and the mornings is when the big ones are feeding... One kid out there got spooled yesterday when they were hooking the big ones he said.. It took all his line without hesitation and snapped it and kept going.... Hrmmm wander what he had..

Sorry I missed it. I was all ready to head out yesterday early AM but realized I had some unfinished errands to run. Oh the responsibilities that weighs on one's shoulders. Guess thats why I fish, to get alway from it.
The fish will have to wait. Hopefully next weekend is as good because I'll be out there come hell or high water.

I want to go next weekend hella bad also... My honey hole is gone thou so I have to find a new spot which sucks!!!! I don't see anyone else catching fish on the other side... And the other side is gonna be the only one accessible from shore now... On top of the part where we snatch the shad is now gone... There is to many trees over there to fish or throw a net... Arrrrrr gonna have to find a new spot.... Dang it...

Or you can use my extra kayak. Its a shorty (8') but it will take you across the gap to your honey hole. PM me if you're interested.
