Does anyone catfish in the winter ?

I've always just hung up my rod untill spring anybody catfish in the winter with success and where at ?

I never have tried it, but good catfishing is a 4 hour drive so that is a long way to go for a try at it. I have my pontoon put away for the winter or I would give it a try in a put and take lake. Ron

So if you were to fish Dog creek thru the ice what would you do?

I would try the hole to the east side of the hump. But since I have never got one through the ice I am just guessing. We should try it. Ron

I'm not sure which part of Idaho you're at, but if you can get some fresh cut bait, Brownlee would be a decent bet. I've never caught large numbers of cats in the winter, but have heard of guys getting on top of them and having 20+ fish days in 20 degree weather. Outside of Brownlee, I haven't caught any at Swan Falls in the winter, but have caught a few out in the Walter's Ferry area.

I remember for BSU's bowl game this last year... well, technically earlier this year, we had a catfish fry with enough for 15 people [cool]
