Lake Kaweah Report

I was in the central valley to spend time with my girls family for the Thanksgiving holiday. Kaweah is a short drive from Visalia, so I decided to go fishing Friday and Saturday.

First cast on friday afternoon, i hooked up on a small rainbow using a wedding ring spinner tipped with a berkley trout worm. He slipped out of my hands as I was unhooking him so no pic. I figured it was going to be a good day but I got no love after that. I soaked power bait, gulp nightcrawlers, and even threw some bass lures and plastics. I saw some photos of some monster bass at the nearby Texaco while picking up my two day license.

The second day i returned to the same spot and threw the wedding ring with no luck. I saw some fellow anglers land some 1-2lb lmb soaking some dead minnows they said they had bought at a store. The only thing i caught was a crawdad that wandered in.

Not much catching, but it was nice to go fishing. The weather was sunny and much nicer than the overcast gloom down in the valley.
