Bought one of the tent style huts this year and gave it the acid test yesterday. Worked OK but ran the heater all day and ended up sitting in 1 1/2" of water by the end of day. Has anyone conquered this delima with a nifty solution?
Thanks

Just drill a hole, and then the water goes down the hole! [:p]
I think that's one of the pros of my Frabil style - sled/tent. You're sitting in the sled, and it does collect the snow that you tromp in there, or beer spills (duoh!) But when the slush-monster comes out to play - you can end up sitting in a pool. Heard of times when folks make a live-well on the ice - when there's enough surface melt.
If you have your chair/bucket to sit on - just add a footrest enough to get your feet off the ice - at least while your sitting.
[center]Yuuuup - that's why good boots are key!

Clear off the snow and then lay down some of the snap together mats that are supposed to go under an eliptical. I have been using that stuff for a couple years in my Clam Command post and it has held up very well.

Where do you buy the eliptical snap together mats? Sounds like a good idea.
Thanks for the ideas so far, but...
-turning of the heater. Not an option!
-drill a hole for the water to go in. Already have to two!
-clear away the snow. It's melting the floor inside the shanty! Yikes!
Thanks again.

Go buy the rubber ones with holes in them at the Depot or Lowe's. They are in the rug section they work great. I have attached a picture for you.

Try one of those cheap silver space blankets. Un fold it and put it under your heater to direct the majority of the heat up.

they have it at sams club and walmart. it works out pretty well and fits nice in the bottom of my jet sled. The stuff with the holes in it would work as well (we tried it) only problems were that it it alot heavier, and when you drop something it is a chore to pick it up... especially maggots or small jigs.
