The Berry , Heaven on Earth

Had business today in Vernal, so on the way home I had to check out the Berry. Pulled up to the Soldier Creek side to Find Solid ice in the bay next to the highway, 2 guys out fishing it. Light snow last night deposited maybe and inch or 2 on the ice. Continued around to the SC boat ramp, road in great shape all the way to the ramp, 2 trucks with empty trailers, still fishin the softwater, a few of the other bays were frozen but for the most part the Berry refuses to give up her glory. The wind was blowing pretty good from the storm.

I headed to the road to the lodge and it was passable, but got a bit slick and I was in my car so I didn't chance it. The whole main body of lake was nothing but white caps. Still got a bit to go Im afraid.

Im still pissed I put the boat away so quickly. The lake was really calling my name, but it definately looked COLD.

By the way as I passed Deer Creek, No ice whatsoever, It looked like a fall afternoon.

Oh well at least there's scofeild and sardine fishing, see ya all there on saturday.

That looks really cold, think Iam going to go ice fishing for the first time this year, once it gets really thick.

that was me out there fishing and the ice was a solid 5 to 6 inches did all right i got 5 cut over the slot and a dozen or so smaller ones more little bows then i even care to catch in the cold got a pic of a 24 incher i'll post when i can

Nice, I was hoping one of you in the photo would chime in, I'll sell you the photo rights! Just kidding, you guys looked cold when I saw you, the wind was blowing the snow pretty good. Glad to hear you were getting a payoff for the tourture.

yea we put up the tent and broke out the heater and then it was a good day with alot of nice fish no place like the berry
