Safe Ice?

I have 3-4 neighborhood kids that want to go ice fishing, is there safe ice at Utah yet or Pineview. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I wouldn't count on Pineview yet. Tubedude was just floating it! Looks for some Utah Lake reports - sounds like some of the harbors are starting to ice-up, but it's still pretty thin. Livelakeview covers some UL harbors - haven't been "out" to see.

I can say that Mantua is well iced, and we're gonna hit it in the morning. Not sure of the neighbor kid's ages, but my 13 year old son will be out with me (looking for anything BUT fishing to do - most likely!). And I'm sure we won't be alone (maybe before first light. . . ).

And hey - welcome. I think Causey above Pineview is looking good, and some other higher-up lakes.

I haven't confirmed this but I heard today that PV capped, hopefully someone will speak up but either way it won't be safe this weekend.

American Fork Harbor is safe. It is 2.5 iches but STRONG.

How is the ice at pelican lake?

stopped by pv on the 15th and there was still plenty of open water, checked the ice at spring creek area and it was 2 to 3 inches of clear ice for about 30 yards and thats as far as i was willing to venture and was still in some pretty shallow water (i could see the bottom clearly)

Sorry I was thinking of pelican Bay but last week i was out by pelican lake and it was caped but i did not venture out on lake
