tiger musky/northern pike?
#1
Hey guys,

I'm a college student and have grown up fishing for trout wherever and whenever I can, but i have always wanted to learn to fish for tigers musky and northerns, the problem being tthat my little fishing boat is currently broken so I thought that i might try and pick it up durring the winter on the hard deck, but i had a few questions.
1 What are some good places tto catch them?
2 I know that there are those wire leaders to help with the teeth , but how do you join them up to the hook/line? are shock tippets required?
3 i know a lot of people use tip ups, but do they have any advantage to normal ice rods?
4 what are some successful lures/ baits that i could try?

sorry i know that was prettymuch asking for a complete run down, but I usually try and teach myself since i fish alone or with friends who are beginners so any and all help would be great! It seems to be one of that types of fishing where you have to know what you're doing or be taught by someone who does.... Thanks again guys!
