Hit Mantua this morning. Needless to say, I was not the only one out there. I Got there about 0730 and went in a strait line out from the boat ramp.
I ended up with two 13" rainbows, about 15 perch anywhere from 3" to 10", and one nice big 7" blue gill.
After getting skunked at Causey yesterday, I sure was nice to catch some fish today.
I don't usually get cold, but the wind was blowing out of the NW this morning and I was freezing. How'd everyone else do out there?

Got out with my boy, and met up with "thefriends" - also ran into "skunkedagain". Plenty of other folks out there, but not maddd crowds (now Smith and Edwards THAT was another story!!! And BTW: they are out of wax-worms right now!)
We parked at the south end and headed about halfway to the knoll. Fishing wasn't "hot" - Ben already had a few in the bucket by the time we got there. Had those tendy dinky Gill bites, and the occasional Trout slam. Ben found a pair of dinks (perch). No bass for the day (too bad - that was fun), a number of decent sized Gills, plenty more smallies that went back. Nothing too grand on the Trout, but we did get a stack of 'em.
Didn't really pull out the camera much, including the underwater one. Should have - to see what was going down! We had about a dozen Gills, Ben had at least twice as many. I'd still like to find out what part of the lake those chunky Perch are hanging out. Sounds like you did pretty good on the West side.
Cooold morning. But pretty calm really. Good ice 4-5 inches - even had a Quad cruising around the lake today. Really thinned out by midday, figure there's probably a late-shift that moves in for the sunset happy hour.
My son got to entertaining himself as I explained "gilling" a trout. Hence the row of headless bows in my shot.
Jeff - hope you didn't get skunkedagain! Sorry we didn't group up on the ice. How did your spot treat ya?

I was out there on the east side with my daughter for about an hour and got a dozen or so dink gills before my daughter decided she had enough.
I think we setup right next to you Coyote. I was in a red tent and we got there around 8:30.

Hey Yote it was nice to get out on the ice today. I managed not to get skunked with a nice perch and fair gill. Thought it was big until I seen that one Ben pulled in and the pile the guys between us had. I am in a slump for some reason not sure what I'm not do'en right but I need to figure it out. Anyway thanks for saying hey. Later J

Pretty good gill action today. 46 gills some in the 8 -9 inch range. Just a single lmb. Fishing the same area by the knoll as rest of the tent city. Slow action but few here and there.
