Cats, gills, crappie, bass, carp, and turtles. There are probably some guppies/goldfish in there too. It was just recently opened up to public fishing, so I imagine if you brave the ice, it can be fished.

My father in law fished Maybe Pond way back in the day when it was private property and he was 11 years old. Needless to say, he had his pole and tackle box confiscated by the man who owned the pond. Now My father-in-law is on Clearfield City Council and he approved the city's purchase of the pond. (Sounds like poetic justice, although Im sure he'll never get his pole back). He had me talk to city recreation and I was told that the pond isn't likely to freeze enough to fish on due to the low elevation. However, year round fishing is expected. I hope this helps.

I live right behind the pond and I have never seen it freeze over. There are geese on it all winter so there is always a spot open. I wouldn't trust it to ice fish.

I drove by that place trying to find it. On the Soutwest side there still were no fishing signs on the apartment building. Did those signs forget to be taken down, or is it really no fishing.

Good question. I have had the same concern about those posted signs. I called my father-in-law who knows about the easement laws. He said there is a youth resource center, I believe on the East side, that Clearfield owns. You can enter the pond there on 500 East. The number for Clearfield Recreation is 525-2790. I just talked to a gal named Sheila and she confirmed the area to enter the pond. Good Luck. Let us know how it goes.
