Tibble Fork Res. After reading Starkinkade2's report yesterday my twin and I decided to hit Tibble Fork from 11am to 5:45pm. We drilled the 1st hole to find 9.5 inches of ice. There were a few open spots though. They were at the inlets and the dam had a small one. We tried the 1st location on the west inlet and picked up a lot of fish in 10 to 12 ft. of water. By 2pm the action slowed so we hit the southern cliffs. At the cliff the fish finder went blank in 27 feet of water so we got to shallower water (18ft.) and the action improved. Still within 30 minutes the bites shut down so we moved to the east end at the point and the action improved significantly in 15ft. of water.
My twin deceided to hit the open water at the east inlet with a silver and black roostertail spinner. He lost 3 trout and had plenty of bites. The trout were really close to shore (4 inches of water) and were spooked VERY easily!
My twin got 15 rainbows and 1 brown trout. I got 10 rainbows and 1 brown trout. We were using pumpkin pepper jigs in 1/32oz tipped with nightcrawlers. We tried a white tube jig with crawlers and got 2 bites but no fish. I also tried a silver kasmaster with a crawler with no bites. Near the end of the day a forest service officer checked our licenses, the same guy that did in spring actually. He said "you guys must be as crazy as that hair to be fishing through the ice!"
