hit the water at first light, COLD! Foggy. Water temp 35.8 about 3 degrees colder than last sat. Started fishing about 50 yard off the island ramp but not as many fish showing up on the finder and last week. Looks like perch are going to be scarce again this ice year. Two of us managed 5 perch between us. The trout bite was tough. Went in search for fish that bite looked at charleston, rainbow bay and finally about 1 pm found some biters in the dam arm. Wind was blowing white caps so boat control was tough and didn't get any pics. Between us we caught 12 or thirteen rainbows in about 30 minutes. Nice rainbows 17-1/2'' to 19'', fast action then the bite died.
Before the wind I did take one pic of ice in charleston end but it was thin and I bet the wind took it out. It was interesting that when we got there in the morning there was a breeze, then around 10 or so it glassed off and ice started to form all around us I have never saw that before. The water temp was 34.2 there at transducer level.
Merry Christmas
