First Skunk of the Year

Hit the Boise River in town today looking for some Whitefish to smoke. It's been a New Years Day tradition since I was a teenager. We got skunked but had a good time enjoying the nice weather. And now that we got the skunk out of the way maybe we'll catch fish the rest of the year. Hope you all have a successful year of fishing too! [fishon]

I still have never tried smoked whitefish. I'm sure you'll make up for the skunk today by getting twice as many next time.

i got the same thing last week. took the son out to fish but didnt know every pond in town was froze over and strike is not worth taken the boat too so we threw spinners in the river with no success.
