East Canyon 'Bows
#1
Went up Monday morning to the area south of Taylor's Hollow. 7" of solid ice, but lots of noise with the expansion. Dropped glow jigs with shrimp bits and picked up about 12. A lot of them were 7"-9" planters. Most were 6'-15' down and they wouldn't touch mealies or nightcrawlers... Kept three for the grill (yum). Saw areas of open water north of us (springs or creek inlet I think). Wouldn't venture over there. Our Bald Eagle buddy sat on a rock and watched us catch (and miss) fish for two hours before he decided to go back to his nesting tree. Great sunny day started at 16 degrees and ended at 43 degrees. No real shore melt to speak of. Easy on/off the ice.
