Has anyone Been up to echo what's the ice conditions and is it safe any info would be appericated

Fished it Fri (12/20). About 5-6" water on top of the ice around the edge (South end), evidence of the edges buckling. Didn't break through on the way out but on the way back the very edge was soft. Remaining ice was good and thick, no snow cover so it was slick.

As for fishing, well only caught one. Tried 24'-40' water, fish were at 15' down. They would come for a look then leave (not many visited). Tried shrimp, power bait and wax worms. Tried chartreuse, pink and white tubes as well as ice flies. Pretty slow for me. Now many anglers out on Fri.
