Anybody have reports on the clearwater river. Mainly the southfork clearwater. Is there snow, ice, what are water conditions

I have a pretty reliable source that said it was frozen solid as of 1-26-2012. Hope that helps (even though it is not what you wanted to hear).

The Clearwater is fishing really well right now. This is definitely the time to get out. The best fishing is still below Orofino, but in the next week or so, I expect the upper river to come into form. There is a nice post by Ryan of CRC on the Clearwater on FindFish if it helps.

As far as the SF is concerned, the conditions have been reporting Ice for Jan. but the warm weather should have broken much of that up and they are reporting flows around 200 cfs over the last week.

South Fork from Harpster to Stites aught to fish WELL!

Driving down hwy 12 last Friday I counted 8 boats from Long Camp Ramp down to the Gift Shop Ramp. 4 of those boats had their net out landing Steelhead. []

We fished Saturday from Pink House to Peck, side drifting roe and beads, we hit six of eight on Saturday and four of seven on Sunday. There are a few boots in the mix although most were fish newly up from down river and looked much fresher than what we'd caught the week before!
