Welcome to BFT.
I haven't heard anything for a while on Bear Lake. I suggest that you post your question on the Utah fishing board to get some additional info possibilities. Also send a private message to BearLakeFishGuy . He usually knows or can tell you where to get the information. Here are the last Pugstone Tackle Reports: February 6th, 2012 Fishing on the lake still seems to be producing some great numbers. Usually I do not have much success after the Cisco have spawned because everything is full but the Cisco's are still spawning, not along the shore but from out on the Rock Pile, Pump House, Cisco Beach, & 2nd Point. Ice is forming up a little in a variety of locations but it hasn't caused any problems with those wanting to get out and fish the lake. Rainbow Cove, State Marina, North Beach, 1st Point, & Spinnaker Point are the locations to try if it is iced up and you cannot get out. Fishing reports have been up and down depending on the day. I have received some amazing reviews from those trolling as well as jigging. The best locations have been off of Cisco Beach in 58' and out to 92'. Rock Pile in 58'-62' and also Gus Rich Point in 98'-105'. 2nd Point in 78' and in as close as 55'. The Pump House has also been good as well and the best depth for trout it 72' and for whitefish and Cisco it was in 26'-38'. Submitted Recent Reports Date: January 25, 2011 10:01 AM MST Bear Lake is 100% ice free at this time. Cisco finally running in good numbers off Cisco Beach. The cisco are running fair off the Utah State Park Marina, but the numbers have tapered off at the marina. The cisco run will peak this week but they should be around through the coming weekend. Weather will be the biggest factor. If it is windy the fish will move off shore. The early mornings have been the best time off the marina, but cisco have been in along Cisco Beach during the day too. It helps to have waders or hip boots in order to get out in the water a little farther than standing on shore. Anglers continue to catch limits of cisco off the rockpile in about an hour in 45-50 feet of water. They are also picking up a few whitefish and cutthroat trout while jigging for cisco. Other good spots to try for trout are the areas off at 2nd Point and the pump house. Good depths to target have been about 75-85 feet, but you may want to try shallower as the cutthroat will follow cisco into the weedy area in 25-35’ of water. If you are trolling, try minnow type lures which are working the best. If you are jigging, try castmasters or other vertical jigging spoons for cisco and whitefish. Use lead head jigs tipped with cisco for the trout. Boat launching is available at the Utah State Park marina, 1st Point, and the Rainbow Cove ramp. All boat ramps have courtesy docks in place at this time, but they can become iced over and slippery so extra caution is needed. The cisco run and conditions update will be made at least every other day and will continue until the run is over. You may call the Bear Lake office answering machine for the latest report and lake conditions after 5pm. 435-946-8501. -Scott Tolentino - DWR Biologist [signature]

Will keep this site posted as changes occur. The East side of the lake has ice between 1 and 3 inches thick. Right now the West side is also frozen over. There ALL ramps are closed. Fishing on the lake still seems to be producing some great numbers. Some Cisco's are still spawning, not along the shore but from out on the Rock Pile, Pump House, Cisco Beach, and 2nd Point.
