I had worked hard all week including late last night in hopes I could get some fishing in today. I had to go to the office and take a few phone calls and write a few emails and run a couple errands but finally got to the water today around 12pm. Put in at CFP. There were some gulls flying near the main lake so I eased up and begin throwing a modified BT (Labman knows what it is) I had a tap tap tap and then a yank and the fight was on. I knew it had to be a striper since it was pulling and its head was shaking. I had it on my baitcaster with 12 lb mono so I was able to get it in pretty quick but it did put up a nice fight. Weighed a little over 7+ on the boga grip. Nice belly on this striper. I wasnt sure if I was going to keep it for dinner so I put it in the livewell and turned on the pumps. I needed to test them out since I have a TX coming up. About 2 hours later I could not reach my wife and did not have a cooler with me so I reached in and the fish was still green grabbed him and let him swim away. Just a little bloody nose which you can see in the picture. Man that filet would have been good on the grill. I also had a PB today!! emoGeezer I caught something on my TN Rig. A nice bass pushing around 5 on the grip! You can kinda see my shoe in the picture - big and round!! The bass that is emoBig Caught a few more on the TN Rig but not much size to them. I guess now that I got the skunk off that rig it is working. Threw some traps and jerkbaits but no takers today. Also tried a SB but again no takers. Caught a few 3+ footballs on a bucktail and missed a few. At the end of the day I had my most frustrating experience ever!! There were bass busting all around me and another boat and dag gone we could not catch em. I think the guy in the other boat finally hooked a couple on a chatter bait but I threw topwater, SB JB and Bucktail and they would have none of it. Only lasted about 45 minutes but some nice ones busted from the splashes! Maybe next time - Tight lines!! emoFish
