Hey guys, I'm thinking about going up to the Salmon river near Shoup this Thursday to try my luck at some steelies. Would anybody want to ride up with me and possibly split some gas in my Gramd Am? I live in Rexburg. Let me know. PM me if you'd like.

Clearwater looks like it will fish well Friday afternoon into the weekend. It looks like it may get a little off color with the water coming up on wednesday through thursday

The SF may finally get that water for the "Big Push"

Hey, no I didn't end up going. With the storm that came in a couple days before it made the water muddy from what I heard. I am going to try to get up there this next Wednesday or Thursday. With warming temperatures it should get the fish moving more.

A friend of mine fished it today and said the water was murky, but fishable. He hooked 8 and landed 4. One was 36" native. Wish I was with him instead of working. He never left Salmon today. Fished around town all day.

It sounds like it is heating up over there. Do you think that the biggest group of fish is still yet to come?

I was planning to go on Saturday but after checking the weather forecast this morning I decided it might be better to wait until next week. Looks like cold temps, wind, and snow for tomorrow.

From what we are seeing and hearing it should be a fantastic spring. Maybe I'll actually fill a tag for the first time if I can only find the ones with the clipped fins. 14 natives caught and released and only 2 hatchery fish for me since the first of October of last year.

A good run would be awesome for sure! I've never caught a native fish. I'd like to someday! If there is good weather this coming week I may head out!

side drifting roe and egg patterns with flyrods from slaughter house down through McGill, ran it twice, took out at Peck. Stayed in the clearer water coming out of the Northfork "mostly".

Is fishing from the bank any good? Or do we need our drift boat. I'm guessing drifting roe or flies would be my best bet. Any help would be appreciated
