My grandson and I fished the backwaters Monday,,, Plenty of ice but open water at the mouth of the creek and toward China Creek. We had the place to ourselves untill around 11 then a couple of other people showed up .I would guess about 6 inches of ice on the east side of the bay don't know about the west side. We caught 9 fish all trout .All were nice with1 tagged fish. Monday was cold and there was no slush but the sled tracks showed that at one time it had been pretty slushy

Drove down to the backwaters tonight and there's water on the edges and the ice did not look good even if you had a plank. Off to Magic in the morning.

I heard that dog creek has good ice and plenty of trout being caught. I would like to ice a cat. Ron

Thats good to hear. I might go by that way but I am heading to magic today, maybe, this wind is harsh.
