Hit the river again today and had some trouble finding where the fish had moved. Earlier in the week we were catching nearly all of the white bass in the deep channel on the Flint River. A little rain last night got the Flint slightly off-color and the fish abandoned their normal pre-spawn residence. Not one strike in the deep water. Moved about a mile upstream and began catching scattered white bass on the edge of a flat using crank baits. We decided to look for greener pastures and relocated to the Tennessee River upstream of the Flint River confluence. We found the fish on sand banks on the much-clearer Tennessee; this change in location made it a "catching day" instead of a fishing day. Kept a few for a friend who keeps me in tomatoes and released the rest. Fish were mostly in the 1# to 2# size; caught a couple of really nice ones around 2.5#.
