UL lake skunk 3/5/12

Took my dad to the area between the Pumphouse and Saratoga Springs last night, hoping two days of warming upswing in the weather might put some panfish in those warm spring areas. Fished from3pm to dark.

Total bust.

I fished the same area last week and had the same results. I don't know why, but that little stretch has produced more skunks for me than any other spot -- but it's also produced my best days. Blech.

I couldnt get a thing from shore, but when we went out into the lake, bingo.

Yep, that area can be hit or miss. I've had some slow days out that way but I've also done really well. Some of my bigger catches have been out there. Gotta put in the time to catch them, sometimes you get skunked. It happens.
