drumking, Riverpark, Bass, 15 March 2012, alone
#1
I pulled a good one this morning. I launched from Tyner Lane with the intention of crappie fishing for 1/2 day. I made a 10 minute run and fished for 15 minutes, the entire time thinking about the Riverpark and wondering why in the heck did I decide to crappie fish? So, back on the trailer with the boat and a 15 minute ride down to the Riverpark to fish for bass. I might as well stayed home. The fishing was extremely slow. I caught 4 small spots, 1 nice white bass and a lot of sun rays. I ran down to the bend to take a pulse on the fish down there and determined that they are on life support. Dead as a hammer. Except for a big catfish that thumped my jig really hard, I set the hook and the fight was on. The fish headed for deep water and then went straight down under the boat and sat there sulking in 16 feet of water. I couldn't move the fish. Finally after a minute or so, he decided to move again and when he did, the jig just popped out of his mouth. emoBang All I got was a little slime on the line, but EricM would have been proud of me. That's it for today. Nothing much to report. 45,000 cfs, water temps 58 and bright sunshine. emoBigSmile emoGeezer
